The kindness factor in the Doc Martin series interested me almost immediately. I found it ironic that there should be so much of it in a show whose main character is a grumpy, insulting, mostly unkind village GP whose exterior abrasiveness and constant fog of self-awareness—about himself and his negative impact on others—is exasperating. Kindness can be learned like any other skill. It seems like such a simple quality, but unless we teach children to be kind, it won't become an integral part of their being. Build the Strength Within is the theme and also the book! People all over the world are in a state of need, high need and on every level; psychologically, emotionally.   The key is that acts kindness can produce oxytocin and therefore kindness can be said to be cardioprotective. 3) Kindness Slows Ageing Ageing on a biochemical level is a combination of many things, but two culprits that speed the process are Free Radicals and Inflammation, both of which result from making unhealthy lifestyle choices.
